The lot after I picked them off the stalk

Upon Thy’s recommendation, I went to Trader Joe’s to check out the offering of still-on-the-stalk brussels sprouts. For $2.99, I got a nearly three-foot-long pole loaded with little blooms of these mini-cabbages.

It’s pretty cold tonight in Santa Monica, so what better way to heat up an apartment than to roast an enormous amount of sprouts? I simply tossed the knobs with onions, entire cloves of garlic, pepper, salt, and olive oil and threw them in at 350F. Paired with some tinned herring, these babies will be my lunch for the last two work days of the week. Yum!
